Are you a taxi driver per chance?

Some wanker threw a bottle at my dad's taxi and broke the window the other day.
Nearly took his passenger's eye out.

And I suppose you think that the taxi driver is the bad driver here.

You're such a poor driver. You shouldn't be on the road.

 2 road rage lunatics, no wonder there are so many deaths on our roads.

    That behaviour is disgusting

So, in trying to avoid breaking one rule, you think it's okay to break nearly every other one in the process.

No but you should continue normally or pull in if you feel in danger. Not brake suddenly and speed up when he is over taking just to piss him off. This is the kind of thing that causes accidents and kills people.

In fairness to the lad, the other guy was just as bad.

Both need to reevaluate there driving.

They both ignored the rules of the road.

the op should have let the taxi driver overtake and the taxi driver should not have been tail gating or attempting to overtake on a solid white line.

Also the taxi driver should not be jumping out the car.

A lot of silly mistakes are often made in the red mist.

    what rule did i break?

your not supposed to speed up when being overtaken, even if the overtaker is doing so illegally, you make a dangerous situation worse.

What to do when somebody overtakes you

    * Continue at the same pace.
    * Keep as near to the left as is safe to do so.
    * Do not accelerate.
    * Be alert in case the overtaking vehicle suddenly pulls back in front of you.

I simply pointed out that not all the errors were the ops, as criticism in this thread would have you believe.

ah fcuk em..taxi drivers deserve it..how many times have I thought of doing that same thing to boy racers etc..but in the end common end prevails...
Except on crappy country roads...then I'll slow to a nice 60kph and they're stuck behind me in the asshole of nowhere for about 5 miles with no option of overtaking.
I'll throw on some music and start singing away and making sure the cvnt sees me :) really drives them nuts.;)

what is this crap about? you drive to get to your destination not to instill dominance over someone, Id suggest you leave that attitude at home when you drive, seek counciling for anger management or at the very least save it for a race track.

Wow - similar thing happened to me:

I was driving my taxi today when I spotted a guy in front of me with his boot ajar. Thinking it might fly up and he could lose stuff from his boot I started flashing my lights at him to alert him that something was amiss.

Next thing I know this guy has jammed on the brakes and I nearly run into the back of him. So I decided to overtake and drive up beside him to shout across and let him know. I beeped the horn several times, hoping to get his attention but as I overtook the guy unbelievably started accelerating to prevent me getting back on the right side of the road.

Suddenly I realised that my trying to do good was going to cause an accident.

Luckily he slowed down and I got back on the right side of the road and pulled in. I tried to go back and warn him again but he sped off. Hopefully no accidents were caused by anything flying out of his boot later on.

I was foolish to overtake when I did but thought I could prevent an accident by doing so. Next time I won't bother attempting to warn anyone.

So say if a car came the opposite direction, you hadn't time to slow down to let the taxi in, the taxi crashed into the other car killing or injuring its occupants ... would you still be feeling so righteous? Yes, the taxi driver was also in the wrong, but drivers like you shouldn't be on the road.

I love the way you're happy to put the man's life in danger when you're in the safety of your own car, but are too much of a coward to actually face him

All the errors that the OP made WERE his own.

My point was that there were TWO dangerous drivers here not one, the way people where commenting at the start of the thread you'd think the taxi driver was a saint behind the wheel. I AM IN NO WAY EXCUSING THE BAD DRIVING OF THE OP.

At the stage where he pulled in front of you, you had already lost the head. otherwise you would have seen past the red mist and not be driving irresponsibly.

Wow, why does somebody do this in almost every thread on AH, i.e pretend they were the person being talked about by the OP? It was funny the first few times, but it gets old very quickly.

Road Rage is a very childish, unattractive and dangerous trait to have.

Its kinda funny that people would be fn and blinding in their car, beeping at cars in front of them because they can get away with it because they are inside they’re car and its v unlikely of any repercussions. Imagine walking down the footpath and getting stuck behind some granny pushing a trolley, I doubt you’d be behind her cursing under your breathe, saying “old people shouldn’t be allowed on footpaths”, taking out a hoghorn to let her know she’s pissing you off! (mental image = hilarious)

Constantly getting angry over little things i.e. somebody takes to long after the light goes green, etc. shows you are taking any stress you have out any other people who are completely unrelated to your issues. Yes, people make mistakes when driving, Yes, there are natural dangerous drivers who shouldn’t be on the road but Road Rage has more to do with you than the other people on the road.

OP, What you did was extremely reckless and could have had very bad consequences…would your point have been proven then? The likely result is both you and the taxi driver both got angrier and drove more angrily because of it. Net result: 2 more dangerous drivers on the road.

I challenge anyone to beat this.

Recently I saw a yellow sign in the distance and stuck my paw out for it. I didn't really notice what sort of car it was until it was beside me. If I hadn't been in a hurry, I would have waved it on again, but I was so I got in. So what sort of car was it?

    A 1995 Fiat Bravo!

I squeezed myself into the back, figuring the driver was going to be a foreign national, but he was a Dublin guy with a moustache. He didn't even apologise for the car, and he came out with a load of racist comments when he had to stop at a pedestrian crossing for some Africans.
