I opened up my laptop yesterday because I was having problems with the laptop charging. When I put it back together and start itup there are coloured lines all over the screen. The computer is working grand apart from this because I have connected it to my monitor and using it now. Anyone Know what I may have done to it ? It is a fujitsu siemens pi 1536.

Sounds like you have a loose connection at the video cable on the system board. There is a cable running from the screen to the system board and you will see it somewhere around the hinges, follow this cable and check that the connection is secure. Unplug/replug it back in and test video.
There may be an inverter board where the cable connects, check this connection to the system board too.

It sounds like ya busted your screen. Before ordering a new one check the connections for the screen. On the motherboard and the rear of the LCD.
