Im currently with 3Irl but but am tempted to move to meteor as they have a great offer on now.

    Bill Pay Lite 25:

    300 anytime mins
Free call and texts to Meteor
    30 day contract

All for 25 euro/month..about half the price of its competitors..brilliant.

    BUT...their data bundles suck..10 euro for 250mb

Question is..I have wifi at work and at home so I should be ok with 250mb yeah?

Next question..is Meteor 3g coverage any good? How would it compare to 3 irelands? I think im sold...but for feck sake Meteor, get with it and get a decent data plan on offer here........

It depends on what u use your phone for? I am on meteor bill pay and I went on the net a few times and it is sooooo expensive... also international calls are quite dear..

o2 seem to have a great offer re net usage,,.

well they have the 250mb add on, so if i don't go over that I'm ok.

02 are way more expensive overall.

their 02 clear350 plan gives you 50 extra mins and 150 texts but its double the cost..ouch. I dont need any txts anyway as i have jellysms and so get my txts for free..

Expensive international calls are not a worry either, as i use skype on my phone for them..very cheap

But whats their 3g coverage like?

I've had my 3GS on O2 about a month now and I've only used about 150MB of data. That's using Maps quite a bit, as well as Push email, EirText, Safari, and a bit of tethering. I have WiFi in the office and at home. 250MB should be enough if you don't use YouTube / stream radio on 3G very often.

One other thing to note is that Meteor 3G is only available in Cork and Dublin at the moment.

It should drop back to EDGE outside of 3G coverage.

I used the 250Mb on Meteor for over a year, and only once went over it. And I streamed radio some mornings.

Yep, EDGE is available pretty much everywhere. I had my EDGE iPhone on Meteor for over a year and never once went over the 250 MB limit.

Thanks for the info..Do you know if the coverage in dublin is good?

Also, maybe I have this wrong, but are you the creator of Eirtext?
I currently use Jellysms as I got it free on promotion, just wondering is there any benefit to having Eirtext also or are the two apps pretty much the same? Thanks

I've info on coverage in Dublin, I'm afraid.

Yep, I'm the guy behind EirText. EirText & Jelly SMS do the exact same thing, the only difference being a couple of features here and there, as well as the user-interface. :)

You can try out EirText for free to see which you'd prefer.

EDGE coverage is grand, I've not noticed any problems and I tend to travel around the city a bit.

    Hi everyone.
Having a bit of trouble here and I hope someone can help. I bought a factory unlocked iPhone 3GS recently and haven't a clue how to set up EDGE. I've read through some posts and people said ring meteor and ask for the ISP and stuff which i did, but they were fairly unhelpful and nothing has happened

Anyone have a step by step guide to help me out? I'm meteor by the way.
    Many thanks
    -Phil :o
