Motor Insurance Query

Just a quick query regarding no claims bonuses etc.

Basically I've accumulated a full 5yr No claims bonus through@

    2 yrs my own insurance
2yrs with Company car (exclusive use etc)
1y6months through another company car (most recent)

I since left the last job a month ago, and found out they claimed through the insurance for a scratch on the door I got while leaving a parking lot. The claim was for €559, they did not offer me any chance to pay it myself or the like.

I have since been quoted VERY REASONABLE personal car insurance on 123.ie with my 5yrs no claims, with a claim registered to last year August for €559. They have given me a quote with what seems to be a full 5yrs no claims intact regardless of this petty claim.

The only thing is now, they want me to get an insurance 'pack' stating I have 5yrs no claims bonus from the last company and what discount scale I am on. When I originally requested a letter of no claims, I got that letter stating there was one claim, with no discount scale etc.

What should I be doing, how can I get this sorted? What do I need to request? I offered my old letters of no claims, with this last letter, but they only wanted to see the most recent letter with the discount scale of 50% on it.

Any advice would be appreciated, as I'm very confused

Was your company insurance a fleet ins or an open drive policy? If it was you will just get a letter showing how long you've been named on a policy, i doubt you can get a letter from that insurance showing 5 year NCB.
The only way you can get 5 years is if the insurance company will accept your old NCB.
Why not try the company that your last company car was with?

It appears from what you said, you don't have 5yrs NCB. The only way to get your current insurers to reInstate it, is if you pay them back the claim

The quote you got from 123.ie, mentioning the claim, would appear to to be dependant on you previously having had a fully protected NCB
