I'd say the 'cheapest' CPL would cost about €60k. The cheapest way would be to get a PPL in the US, the hour build there in the cheapest aircraft you can rent. Probably a C150 and or similar Piper. Then do the CPL module there after passing your exams.

However, I know of several pilots with 'cheap' CPLs who couldn't fly properly or were even dangerous. Some who got a cheap foreign licence and went to convert to a JAA licence and ratings suddenly found that the costs began to escalate as they desperately tried to reach the standard required to pass JAA flight tests.

So you should really be looking the most cost effective method of obtaining your qualifications rather than cheapness.

Probably the most cost efficient method is to travel to one of the CAA approved JAA schools in the US.

Atlantic Flight Training in Cork, €59,999 zero > hero.

A CPL in itself is quite cheap ( around 8k ), it's the associated costs, PPL, hour building, exams etc. that will cost you the money.
