On this thread you can both vote for one of the above, and make a nomination for the subsequent Album of the Week.

    - Only ONE nomination per user, per week shall be accepted.
    - A nomination will not be accepted again for a subsequent three months.
    - You don't have to ask whether it's ok to nominate a particular album - once it's alt/indie, doesn't matter how old/obscure it is.

Three EPs by the Beta Band.... is that alt enough for a nod?

Dilemma here- what an amazing selection of albums, particularly Vampire Weekend, Primal Scream and Suede.

Gave Vampire Weekend the nod, Brilliant album

It's the genre that matters, not the level of "alt-ness". :)

nominating "Fantasy Black Channel" from Late of The Pier. In the past 12 months no album has grabbed my attention as much as this album and I have heard a lot and some very good albums.

    why boatman's call?

Because it's a lot better than Vampire Weeked!

Surprised XTRMNTR only got 2 votes. :(

With utter disgust i announce that the boatmans call finished second in the album of the week.

To all the people that voted for it, i could urge you to listen to vampire weekend but i won't. Try pretty much any other album on the list.
