Always one of the more interesting weeks of the season, with a Racing Festival taking place on either side of the Irish Sea.

However I always find 90% of my interest taken up with Goodwood, what I consider proper racing. Top class Group1 races like the Nassau and Sussex Stakes, hugely interesting supporting group races like Gordon Stakes and the Goodwood Cup, and some interesting handicaps.

Galway by contrast always seems to be one decent race a day padded with some absolute and total garbage.

But tomorrow all anyone will be asking me is what tips I have for Galway. People I haven't seen in years will be texting me names of Dermot Weld horses in maidens races (lol, what a tip) and I'll be trying to tell these people that the good racing is actually place on the south english coast.

So the poll question is as follows.

Which meeting will you have a bigger interest in this week, Galway or Goodwood?

Which of the two festival meetings will you have more interest in? 17 votes

    Goodwood

I agree totally with you apart from anyone texting me for tips has got the wrong number! I dont think I've seen any of the horses running in Galway race before so in one way it'll be worth a watch (Sky+) but i'll be watching the Goodwood live. I can imagiane its great down the bookies on a week like this. Theres probably loads of loyal punters and fans each to their own meeting who meet in the bookies and share both the meetings. Lets face it, whether you bet or not its the best place to watch racing with al the tv's;)

Maybe thats the best place for you if you cant make up your mind.

I think the most interesting part of the goodwood meeting is the weight for age and juvinile races personally. I'm looking forward to the 29th in particular

Sussex, RUK Stks, Galway Plate and my birthday all rolled into one.

Galway Races is a only a drinking session, a joke, people annoy me asking me for tips for it, although just say anything running for Dermot Weld and you can't go wrong :D Glorious Goodwood is a quality meeting
