Won't know til tomorrow apparently, read it in one of the English papers online, can't remember which one. It said there's concern in the SA camp, but that might just be concern he's out next week.

Hopefully, he's got just under 2 months until be joins the Munster Camp.

Media here in SA reporting that JDV is a doubt for next week, but there will be no comment on the injury until tomorrow.

So I guess we'll have to wait and see, though I'm hoping that it's not too serious given he hasn't been definitively ruled out.

Oh dear. He hasn't spend a minute with the Munster camp yet he's being labelled injury prone. Let's just tear that contract right up.

My point is, his injury record is pretty bad, and it doesn't bode well for his stay at Munster.

    A lot like Cullen.

He has had a lot of injuries, but they've been to different parts of his body, rather than a recurring injury. I would be much more worried if that was the case. I think he's been very unlucky more than anything. And he's got a lot of his injuries playing for the Boks, rather than club games, so at least he won't have that any more.

you're a fool. there's no other word for it.

Cullen was past his peak when he came to Munster, pace was gone and body worn out.

JdV's injury record is no worse than Leamy's

Some game time for Muprhy and Earls then...
Who knows Lewis might even hang around.

No, afaik he made it on many people best 15 for the best super 12.
In 2003, he scored 8 tries for the hurricanes. He was controversially left out of the 2003 World Cup squad.

He had some fitness when he came to Munster but was unlucky with injuries. I'll grant you that. But at the time, Munster played 10 man Rugby and having a full back popping up in whatever little broken play there was looking for an offload when no Munster player ever offloaded the ball (taking the hit and setting up the ruck instead) just didn't suit his game.

Now at least half the Munster team can offload it. But at the time, I don't know what he was thinking joining them.

    Correct.

Although the signs of his knee injury problems were already there when he signed and shoulders can be just one of those things.

A sizeable paycheque is what he was thinking, and who could blame him?

You're by no means a fool but there is little or no sense of reality in your posts on this thread.

On the plus side Sky news are looking for a reporter to cover the Swine Flu crisis, I'll give you a reference if they come calling ;)

He was still a fine player but he was past his best, they weren't exactly upset in Kiwi when he left and there was only serious outcry over his exclusion after they had a shody WC.

Not really, my posts here have been knee-jerk reactions, borne out of memories of Christian Cullen.

What exactly have you contributed to this thread? Two comments jumping all over a throw away remark made by another poster? The only reason I mention it is it's not the first time I've seen you do it and not the first time with the same poster...why don't you just give it a rest and discuss the topic at hand and stop looking at making sly digs all the time?

On topic, I doubt JDV's injury is anything too serious, but he does seem to pick up a few injuries....but then, so does Brian O'Driscoll, so it's early days for him yet, but I've no doubt we'll still see more from him in the tri nations...seeing as it takes about 7 years to complete each Tri-Nations series, he's got plenty of time yet.

JDV haven't had more injuries than other quality players in recent years. One bad injury during his WC campaign and after Sat does not make him injury prone. He will be a good asset to Munster. He should also only play 12 as he is big and strong. He is not a wing (too slow) or 13.

Yawn. I contributed in the first page by pointing out the nonsense point that was made. My second post was to back up another poster who rightly pointed out the sensationalist element of the post.
Is that alright for you? For future reference I'll continue to jump on rubbish points made and counter argue them. I hope you're alright with that.

Thats good news, read it in the paper today. It's never nice to see a player get hurt. Looking forward to see him playing down the park soon.
