Subtitles on ITV HD

    Hi all,

    On certain programmes I like to have subtitles when available. When viewing an ITV programme on my Humax HD receiver which has subtitles and is being broadcast in HD I lose the subtitles when the red button is pressed and the HD broadcast comes through. This does not happen when viewing BBC HD broadcasts.

    Does this mean that ITV HD broadcasts do not supply subtitles or am I doing something wrong.

    My HD receiver is a Humax PVR.

    ITV HD doesn't broadcast any type of subtitle data.

    BBC HD doesn't broadcast DVB subtitle data, but broadcasts teletext subtitle data.

    If you're having trouble getting subtitles, try switching over to the other type of subtitles. I watch mainly in text subtitles - the DVB subtitles are poorly displayed on screen (probably the receiver's fault).

    NB: I have a TM6900CS+ receiver.

    Thanks for reply zbluebirdz. I could never get subtitles on the ITV HD and your answer explains why.

    However I do not have any problems getting BBC HD subtitles.
