pain injection gone wrong

im not starting this thread for the purpose of criticising any consultant as i know how loyal those who work in the field of medicine are to each other so dont cut me off right away , please

anyway , i suffered a rib injury nearly two years ago and after putting off having a nerve block on several occasions , i finally bit the bullett in june and went for one , the consultant explained to me before hand that the proceedure was not without risk , heart failure while under anasthetic , infection afterwards so i was made aware of the possible implications , the consultant also told me that thier was only a 50- 50 chance of the nerve block actually working , anway none of theese things happend but what did happen is my pain is far worse than ever , when i went for the nerve block , the pain was actually not that bad but i thought i might say goodbye to it forever if i had the proceedure , i thought the worst case scenario other than the unlikely event of failure while under anasthetic was that the injection would not work , i have been to my GP and he tells me i dont have an infection , i do not feel in any way unwell other than the fact that the pain is unbearable , is this strange , did the consultant for want of a better word , poke me somewhere they shouldnt have

finally , is it true that you have to wait a minumum length of time after a nerve block before you have another one , the reason i ask is , i am planning to contact another pain specialist as i cannot continue in the level of pain i am in right now and my follow up wiith the constultant who adminstered the nerve block is not untill september , , im taking tramake and tylex and they only kill the pain for about an hour
