Why is there always a new one coming out every few months? It seems like alot of money to spend on something that will be replaced in another few months, so is there really that much of a difference between them (sorry if it seems like a stupid question but i havent a clue about em!)

Other posters will have better insight into this I think but in my mind Apple are always innovating trying to come up with new exciting stuff. Same with their computers. I got a Macbook a few years back and about 3 weeks after I got it there was another one with bigger HD (more storage space) and more RAM. It's just the way tech stuff is IMHO. Just accept and enjoy! :-)
iPhone is well worth it. I read about 4th generation prototype so no doubt a new one will be around that'll be faster or better in some way, might even look different! But don't be put off 3Gs is fab in itself

Put simply, there isn't a new iPhone release every few months. The 3G was released in Ireland last July, and the 3Gs was released at the end of June this year. It might just seem like the release dates are closer than they are because the 2G was released in this country quite a time after it's release in the states, so being closer to the release of the 3G, if you get me...

I agree with spoongibbon, it's usually spaced out over a year or more, my first post made it sound like they update products every few months which they don't. Thanks spoongibbon for clarifying!
I guess what I'm trying to say is don't worry and if u like it buy it 'cos you'll love it
