I've just come across this petition to repeal the law on the blasphemy measure. It seems to have just started so those of us who feel strongly about this issue should spread the word and ask friends and family to sign on also.

    There is no need.

They cannot prosecute anyone for defamation

    Signed it.

Incidentally, has anything ever been achieved using that site, or do the petitions just get ignored?

Electronic petitions tend to fall flat on their face.

If you want to make yourself heard, attending some of the real life meetings are a better use of your time, and of course you can make yourself heard to your local TD.

Electronic petitions aren't really worth the paper they are printed on.
