Secondary School CID question

    Hi all,

I'm currently (until the end of August) in my fourth successive 1-year fixed-term contract in a secondary school. The contract I got in my fourth was for 18.66 hours and states that my hours are a mixture of special needs hours and job-sharing hours.

For next year, I've been told by my principal that I'll have 20.66 hours. He/She didn't mention a CID and I didn't either. I've signed nothing yet.

I was told by a colleague last year sometime that CIDs only apply in respect of 'initial allocation' hours, i.e. that they exclude job-sharing or special needs hours etc. If that is so, then I presume I'm not entitled to a CID.

However, I've recently been told by 2 people (one is actually a school principal in another school) that I am entitled to one, and that talk of 'initial allocation' versus job-sharing is irrelevant. According to these people, I'm entitled to a CID for 22 hours.

Before I go in and demand a CID, I'd like to arm myself with the facts. Can someone please clarify where I stand? I'd be most appreciative.
