They look pretty funky in the photos. I presume at that money(and by their name:o) they're Chinese made?

Rejoice in the awareness of feeling stupid, for that’s how you end up learning new things. If you’re not aware you’re stupid, you probably are.

They are a division of Seiko.

From what I've seen, although I've never owned one, they will stand you in good stead.

The particular watch you link to, I'm not overly enamoured with, the open face dial I think detracts from the look which is already a little busy.

what about this one with a black leather strap?

http://www.watchuseek.com/ it's a website. You can pik up some private sale bargains there.

I actually own three Orient Automatics and I've just brought my partner one for everyday use as her Tissot is getting a little rough around the edges.

All I can say is bang for your buck you won't get much better in terms of quality. And when you see the accuaracy being between -20 and +20 seconds per day don't worry, mine have never been anymore than +/- 5 seconds a day and for an mechanical watch that's pretty good. I have an Omega that is put to shame by my Orients for timekeeping.

Bedlam said they are a divison of Seiko Epsom and that is correct. However Orient have been around a lot longer than that and were brought out by Seiko. They are however allowed to operate as a company in their own right and make all their own movements.

The best thing about them though is they produce watches for all price ranges, so you'll find something for all tastes.

Here's a link to the Orient website. http://www.orient-watch.com/ if nothing else you'll enjoy looking at the pictures ;) and here is good old wiki's 2cents http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Orient_Watch but they are pretty much bang on.

    Hope that helps a bit.

Oh and by the way the first one you were looking at I've been toying with buying but it's a little to similar to the world time I own.
