From what I hear the Marvel Civil War miniseries spills out into other random mags- x-factor, wolverine, spiderman, punisher, and such. and i'm wondering, is there any graphic novel/collection that puts all these issues in chronological order, similar to the MARVEL ESSENTIAL line?
    thank you!

Well, there's paperback volumes that collect stories on a loose theme. Civil War: Ironman collects 4-5 stories that were in the Ironman comic etc. I've seen a Wolverine one, F4, Spiderman, Black Panther etc that are presumably in a similar vein.

They're still publishing new chapters in the monthlies. Xmen has a civil war chapter for ex, Breezed past the stand in Eason and noticed a banner across most of the Marvel issues. I presume these are new stories and not rehashes, but...

The ones in Eason are likely Panini UK's Collector's Editions. They reprint material and are a few years behind the US comics, currently they're just finishing Civil War.

Ahh, I had a feeling that might have the case. Wasn't sure though. Thanks!

A list of Civil War related TPB's:
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Civil_War_(comics)#Collected_editions

I recommend you read The Road To Civil War, the main Civil War TPB and whatever the hell tie-in's you want...

If you search around you can find lists people have made putting everything in a nice chronological order,
but no, there is no single collection that contains everything Civil War related

I don't think there's been a Civil War Omnibus or anything similar. Mind you, it's not like you need to read everything with the Civil War banner on it, no matter what Marvel might claim.

If you're willing to wait, Marvel might release omnibus collections. They did for Age of Apocalypse and the Onslaught Saga.
