I've been told i need a new clutch.. nightmare
    1200euro
Its been getting difficult to put it in to 1st and 2nd(shifting up), although its completly random, and might only happen once in every 10/15 gear shifts
and there is also a random(same as above) noise coming from the clutch when shifting up through the gears
    Its a 05 passat 1.9tdi.

    1200 seems a bit steep?
    Any advice?
    Thanks

One of the lads in work has been quoted a similar figure for a clutch on a VW Polo.

    Its big money alright...

1200 is about right with the dual mass flywheel. That is if they are using vw parts. Spurious clutch and flywheel is cheaper. I didn't have the same symptoms though, when I accelerated the rev's would fly up and there was little/no power going through the wheels.
