Sorry if this is in the wrong place,
I haven't a clue about Galils and I was wondering what's the closest thing to this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/R4_assault_rifle available in airsoft? Alternatively, what is the best FN FAL on the market?
    Cheers.

I have the Kings Arms Galil Sar

    and its a beautifull piece

i'd recomend it to anyone, only draw back is the mags are scarce
i have AK mags in it and dont have a problem

its how ya say it GUCCI

The R4 is a variant of the Galil with the main differences being the mags and stock are made of polymer, which is not available in airsoft (nor did I expect it to be). About the King Arms, Ive heard a few bad things about it; the plastic handguard is apparently not the best quality and has a bit of flex to it and the 'blow back' doesn't appeal to me.

So I'll either wait for the ICS or get an FAL, is the king arms version any good?

If you go down the FAL route.
If you dont mind considering L1A1/SLR and FAL's in the
same bracket there is a few choices.

There is a King Arms's Fal which is sweet,
but the Hanguards are crap, and the stock is not much better. Top cover is a greenish black, and the body locking lever is cosmetic. It has an insane rate of fire which is great. Large Battery works all day long on a skirmish.

The King Arms L1A1 has electic blow back, great exterior,
the body locking lever works and you can field strip it nicely. Again Big Battery makes it not need a batt change.

The BEST BEST BEST so far (unless they bring out a GBB version) is the Star L1A1. The Finish, the build quality, the motor, the outsides, the insides are Suberb!!!!
Unfortunatly mine has an issue with the trigger/fire selector area that I dont know how to fix)

There is also a classic army version of the SA58 which
I would like to buy at some stage. And a more modern version with an Ultra High cap, folding stock but unfortunatly an extarnal PEQ box is required.

From my few times skirmishing with them I'd just like
to point out, the Length and Balance is not ideal and not comfortable compared to other AEG's.
Last time I went skirmishing half way through the day as much as I did not want to......
I put down my extra long FN'alike and switched it out for an AUG which had much better
balance and was quicker to aquire a target and more comfortable to run about the place with.

Other thing to note is NONE of the different Brands
have magazines that are compatible with each other.

The King Arms FAL mag is not compatible with the King Arms L1A1 Mag, which in turn is not compatible with the
Star Mag or the CA Mag. Royal Pain in the Ass.

If your a FAL lover the following Real Steel Webpage is pure eye candy:
    http://www.dsarms.com/

At one stage I had considered geting a realsteel rifle and getting it Licenced in Ireland
but the accuracy is crap for target shooting, and it would just be an expensive toy/want
and a hell of a lot of hassle getting it licenced and imported.
