Premier League bet...

Hope I'm posting in the right section,

but I was going through PPower.com and I seen a bet that I thought was really good,

maybe I have my Aston Villa glasses on but I'll give my bet anyways,

Villa to finish in the top 6 @ 9/4,

people will say City will be the team to challenge the top four with their owners playing Championship Manager with the cheats on, but it will take their team time to settle together, and they didn't exactly set the league on fire last year either,

and then again Villa did struggle at the end big time, burn out was a big problem for Villa,

also Spurs with 'Arry looked to build up some good speed towards the end of the season and they will also be up there, and with some good signings,

now Everton I dont know how good they will be, not too many signings being made up that way, but Moyes is an excellent manager in my opinion,

it's going to be a hard season this year, but with a few more good signings by Villa I think the top 6 is the least we would achieve,

also Villa to win without the big four is 6/1 another decent bet I think, their going to be up there roughly, once we dont implode in the last couple of months again :D,

it's not guaranteed, but I just thought I'd share my thoughts here :)...

hehe good one i like it!

Personally i prefare to lose my money on a bet in a day or overnight instead of waiting over a whole football season :pac:
Well regards Villa to finish in the top 6 at 6/4 seems a good bet as long as they can hold on to Ashley Young because if he's sold then goodbye to a top 8 finish.
Liverpool to concede least goals over the season at 3/1 and Blackburn to receive most red cards are two bets i'll be having a dabble at.

Yeah I usually like just the bets I can have settled rather quickly,

but each season I try to stick on a bet for the whole season, and each season I miss it, but I'll get one on this season :),

Ashley is vital, and there is some other vital players that we need to hold onto,

also your Liverpool and Blackburn bets are also nice choices, think I'll also dabble on them :D...

you have your top guaranteed four of the top 6 places, and Man City should take up another, so that leaves you one space.
Aston Villa, Everton and Fulham are in Europe so a bit dodge there giving a window of opportunity to Tottenham and West Ham perhaps.
Despite that though, if I were told that I could take 9/4 on any team I would prefer Everton over Aston Villa. An injury-free Everton would do very well.

Man City didn't set the league alight last year but then again they didn't have the players they have now. It should take a while for them to settle but i suspect it may be a team of individuals. I wouldn't trust Hughes of being able to manage them.

I think you are going to lose Ashley Young so i wouldn't be feeling too hot for backing Villa to come in the top 6. I often find that teams who meekly surrender towards the end of a season tend to have that form leak into the following season. Hull look like certs to be relegated this year for example.

City, Everton, Tottenham maybe even Fulham (goalscorer) and West Ham (defenders) with a signing or two could be up there too. Very tight behind the top 4/5.

You can discount Fulham, they can't win away. Sunderland have a chance though

Ninth best away record in the league last season. They can't score goals away from home. One decent striker and holding on to Hangeland is what they need to challenge to get into the top 6.

I'd be rather confident of Ashley staying, willing to back on it, he has just signed a big extension to his contract, and I know that doesn't mean much these days,

but he has a great relationship with the fans and the club and the manager and the squad, he really doesn't look like a player who wants out,

then in this world of football you can never be 100% sadly...

Evens last I looked, very tempting although if I had to wait a season to get paid would have to be a lumpy bet. Will see if I can build a decent bank before season kicks off.
