Hey. I am an 18 year old Irish Canadian, Irish first, and I'm moving to Ireland in September to get away from family and start a new life. I'm looking for a job and a place to stay, so if you can help me out or point me in the right direction please drop me a message. I would rather be out in the country then in a city such as Dublin or Limmerick because I've grown up in Toronto.
    Thanks alot.

This is probably the best advice you will get. Think again before taking that step.

    Because of the economic problem?

Thats a big factor. Welfare for your age group been halved, in case you dont get a job any time soon. Rural areas, much harder to find work. You also said, you wanna get away from family??? Look i dont know your situation, but your young, probably a bit headstrong. Just think long and hard, before you do anything. Its a big step. Especially, if you alone.

As an 18 year old who's just finished the Leaving Cert with a good bit of working experience, you'll be lucky to get a job. Being blunt as it's a huge step for you.

It's true, the jobs market in Ireland is really tough at the moment. There are jobs out there - including plenty of commission only jobs - but be prepared for unemployment.

You'll need a fair amount of money to set you up and keep yourself until you find a job. It'll be more difficult to find a job in the country I reckon. Why don't you think about a city like Galway, it's big enough to have all you need and not so big as to be impersonal.
