    There are a few options

You can buy a prepay 3G card with modem for 39.99 euro with 20 euro credit. I believe they charge 3 euro per day of usage depending on the provider.

You have movistar, vodafone and meteor, also yoigo. The last one is quite cheap and reliable enough. You can buy a data card for 20 euro with 20 euro of credit in it. 3 euro per day with (i was told) 400 mb of daily usage although I think that after 100 mb they start reducing your speed and they might charge extra with certain downloads. Text to other countries are only 9 c, that's pretty good considering is a prepay card. Customer care is crap though...

Movistar is more expensive, and they dont sell data cards separately I believe. Vodafone is also an option but again they are more expensive.

If you can use your phone as a modem you might be better buying that yoigo card and use your phone as a modem through bluetooth or USB, if you dont you can also buy the modem for 20 euro more (i think).

I'm off to the UK in a couple of weeks. Anyone know if I can buy a mobile broadband USB dongle with a few gigs of usage when I get there? I actually have a few USB dongles so if I could just get the SIM that would be great. Roaming with my current mobile broadband is not an option.

    Any help would be appreciated.

Other option is Simyo. You can choose:
    A) buy a sim card only for data connections. For 25€/month+VAT without limit usage (3,6Mbs until 5Gbs and then the speed will be reduced at 128 Kbs). Without minimum contract duration.
    B) buy a prepay sim card. No commitment and no monthly cost.
1€/day =>100Mb. You must be careful because if in a day your consumption is more than 100Mb the cost of every additional Mb is 0,09€/Mb.
