I ran the Hood to Coast last year an it was the best race i have ever done.
I am planning on doing it next year if i can get a team together.
The race starts on a serious downhill where guys where running sub 4minute miles
The race is a relay race an usually is made up of a team who will use two mini buses to transport the teams. So one team runs 7 legs an the next team runs the next 7 while the first team take a nap.total distance is 197 which is the longest relay race int he world. We completed it in just over 24hours.
    check out http://www.hoodtocoast.com/

I lived in Oregon for a year and while I was a cyclist rather than a runner then, I'm familiar with the route and I reckon it must be a great race. I also know a few people who did it and enjoyed it.
There is also a bicycle race across Oregon http://www.raceacrossoregon.com/ - I did this in '03 with 4 workmates - a once in a lifetime experience - I imagine Hood to Coast would be pretty similar.
Oregon is the best place on earth for outdoor sports - great bike/ running paths, considerate motorists, great weather (at least in summer)...

Was only there for a short stint with work one time, but what a place! Would definitely consider this for 2010.

How many are required for a team? I'm finding it hard to get info on their website.

If a team is being put forward, put my name down for consideration........
