Worst Round Ever!

Just wondering what the worst round people have had?

I played in the open in Hollywood Lakes and had a dismal 15 points. The weather was pretty shocking, rained heavily for most of my round. I nearly gave up after three holes because the rain got so heavy, but I stuck it out.

Can anyone beat 15 points as their worst round!

I was completely sober today which really annoys me! The most frustrating thing is that I played some good shots today, just not two in a row at any stage!

On the 18th I hit a huge drive and left myself with less than 80 yards to the flag. Then I managed to hit my second into the water!

I often think having a bad round makes you keep coming back as much as a decent round as you know you can do better

Even more so I rekon. If I have a particularly bad round im usually out the very next evening trying to put it right whereas if I have a great round I wont play for a week. Then a bad round usually follows because I havnt played for a while!

Scratched 10 holes once and managed a grand total of 15 points.

As a matter of interest, what would have happened if I had walked off after three or four holes because of the weather?

You'd have been home 3 hours earlier.

    Is there any penalty though?

I'd say if you walked off it would be classed as a No Return (NR) and you'd get 0.1 back.

22 points is my worst ever. ive done it twice though. first time in a society off 18 in tramore. I was a bit worse for wear and the cruel thing was i lost the golfer of the year by 4 points because of it. i also did it a couple of months ago off 13 in my home club carrick. i had 44 putts i think and 1 GIR. I had no excuses I just lost the head cos i missed a few tiddlers

I was up in the north for the Tullamore Dew Causeway Coast Challenge this year and had a respectable 35 pts in Ballycastle. There was a group of us up there (about 15) and we had a little private stableford points thing going for the four days of golf. I was in prime position after that score and dealt out some serious abuse and fun at the rest of the group in the clubhouse after and the pub later on that night.
We played Castlerock the next day and had what could only be described as a horror day!! I had two birdies and three pars and ended up with 19 pts!! I had shank after shank all day long. If I hit a drive I duffed the iron. If I duffed the drive I got myself back into the hole only to duff my third! It was the worst day of all time. I was pin high on the Par 5 15th in two and scratched the hole!!
Just could not get the round going at any stage. It was the worst feeling playing the final few hols knowing that I was going to be ripped to bits by the guys later on after this horrific day.
Truthfully, I very nearly started to cry with frustration!!
