Minidisc deck wanted

Had the trauma yesterday of a Minidisc jamming and wrecking the deck.

Saved the Minidisc - which contained something not too shabby - but the deck is ruined. Was ringing around the usual shops today but I might as well have been asking for a wind-up gramophone.

Anyone know where I might pick up a new or nearly new one? Don't want to go buying second hand on ebay if I can avoid it.

    Any help appreciated! Thanks!

You will get a used one on ebay for peanuts mate!
The first you buy is broken?, the second one probably wont, either way, It'll be cheaper than a new one
BTW... no offence, but there are better mediums for archiving your good stuff....
Edit: What's wrong with a wind up gramaphone? I have some needles spare if needed!

Ask in any of the Sony Shops. They often have stocks of them but wouldn't have them on shelves as they are something of a specialist item at this stage. I still use them all the time (involved in radio) and they're hard to beat as an allround medium.

    Thanks guys.

Never suggested there was anything wrong with a gramophone. Sound is at least as good as mp3.

Rang a few Sony shops and they were not interested.

That's odd, I would suggest actually calling in person and speaking to a mangaer if possible. It's not as though they're swamped with customers these days and they were market leaders when MD was at it's peak.

You should have a look at the electronics section of Adverts.ie, Boards "For Sale" forums - this might be worth a try: http://www.adverts.ie/showproduct.php?product=135731&cat=50 - try searching on "mini" in the forum and you should find some for sale. You can also post a "Wanted" ad in the Wanted section.
