okay I know I am cutting it short as the renewal forms have to be in by next week but I am going to chance it. I got the grant last year as I was going a BA level 8 in WIT. due to an illness in the family i dropped out after xmas. In sep I will be doing a failte ireland course in GMIT. Do I stand any chance of getting the grant because I am changing course and its not a level 8

Depending on the course it could be covered under a different scheme. I assume you were previously receiving the HEG grant from the council. Where as this new course might come under the TLT scheme which is administered by the VEC. In this case you'd probably have to apply all over again.

Is this a higher certificate course?
