Dunno if you're interested in the views of a Blades fan on your two new signings, but tough, I'm going to give them anyway.

Naughton - the most exciting prospect to come through the youth team since my first season ticket in the mid 70s. More exciting even than, than, well, probably no one you've ever heard of, but you get the point.

He's quick, athletic and powerful, very good on the ball and can cross with either foot. In short, far too good for the Championship.

There was no way he was going to play for us this season, and despite the outcry (which is massive) from fans, I reckon it makes good sense for us to cash in on him now.

In excess of £5m, possibly up to £8m (supposedly?) for a player with less than a season behind him is too much for a club in our position. And let's face it, a World Class right back doesn't get you promoted - a decent centre forward might (looks like the money's being part used to buy Ched Evans from Man City).

Most Blades fans, if not all, reckon that Naughton will take the step up in class in his stride. The question mark has to be how he'll react to inevitable loss of form and injuries, as well as how the move affects his state of mind.

The pain of losing him was always going to be cushioned by the fact that we had another similar prospect ready to slot into the position...

Kyle Walker has also impressed - very quick and probably physically stronger than Naughton, maybe not as good creatively.

The thing here is that he's played only 5 first team games. He's looked bloody good, but again I can't see how we can turn down £2m+ for someone who may well just have had the best 5 games of his life. Especially if we get to keep him for a year (though I haven't seen that confirmed yet).

What I really don't understand is why Spurs want to buy 2 young right backs.

    Anyone enlighten me?

That's a great post mate, thanks for talking the time to put it together.

I'm as confused as yourself about our right back collection :D, though I think Corluka and possibly one of our existing other two will have to play CB for the start of the season with Woodgate, King and Dawson all with different levels of fitness or lack thereof.

Maybe Harry Plans to play 3 Right Backs and One Center Back? :)

Thanks for the INFO man, I like the sound of them, I kinda like the look of hutton if Naughton is as good as they say I can't see him sticking around too long unless he can be pushed in RM if lennon is out. Going forward isw his best quality after all.

Just seen the stuff about your centre half injuries.

The good news is that Walker is rated in the middle of defence as well.
In fact he's vastly experienced there - 20% of his first team appearances were as centre half.
That's one whole match. And it was against Premiership opposition in the FA Cup, if Hull count as premiership?

Harry's master plan; sign every RB he can > ???? > profit

Just re-read my original post. I don't think I effused enough about Naughton.

Vast majority of Blades fans think he will become an England regular.

Sadly, after some under 19 appearances and an England B cap we also thought Wayne Quinn would play for England. At the age of 28 he was playing for Penzance FC, so maybe you should just ignore everything I say?

I would pronounce it Nocton, but the English commentator pronounced it Nawton,
