    Hello,

I will be travelling in SE Asia for a month in October; I want to go to Cambodia and Vietnam but I am really stuck for time and I will have to fly. I have been looking up flights on the internet and they are cheap enough, but my question is - Is it better to wait to go to a travel agent there or buy before I go on the internet?

    Any information is much appreciated.

    Thanks.

We booked on airasia.com before we arrived last year... it was something like €60 for a flight from bangkok to saigon and then hanoi to bangkok. I dunno if you're gonna make much of a saving on that... if the price is right online, I'd say book it.

Agree with above post, Air Asia are like Ryanair- the longer you leave it the more you'll pay. And travel agents generally wont be able to beat their online prices. Book it asap.

I got 6 flights for a total of €75 last week with air asia. They have offers every couple of weeks. The last offer was for flying sep-oct.

check these sites every 3-4 days - they often do v good deals:

    Air asia
    Tiger air
    Jetstar
    Asian budgetairline guide

good luck & book early for $$ savings but at the expense of flexibility when you're on the ground in Asia.

Just be warned, these guys weigh hand luggage and are very strict on it!
That said, I got from Singapore to India for 75 euro and they allowed me to be overweight because I had a laptop in my bag. :)

Airasia is also great, got from Oz to KL for 250 euro, except I found out later that Malaysian airlines would have been just under 300 and I would have had TV, food etc. It was like being on a Ryanair flight for 10 hours!

hi all sorry if im a little off topic but I just got flights with air asia, from London to kuala lumpur for E170.00. I cant argue with that price even if they are the asian ryanair!.

We booked our flights in a travel agent over in Thailand to Laos and we only saved around €10 from the price that the travel agent charged and the price being offered on the airlines website.
