    Hi,

Excuse my english but what does amenable mean. Its in a letter from a gards RE: A thieving scumbag that we caught.

"progress has been made and a person made amenable"...

I also says delays will be experienced and I may be required to appear in court.

Can anybody tell me what Amenable means, also from exeperience, what I should expect.

Also will I get my recovered stuff back soon?

Im going into speak to the garda this afternoon, I just dont want to go in blind:pac::D

Amenable means basically found responsible - whether by overwhelming evidence or a confession.

Whether you get your stuff back...depends on what it was and how long they had to offload it - TBH I would say unlikely unless caught same day!

More likely you can make an application to be compensated by the accused and this will be part of sentencing.

A friend of mine was burgled and thief stopped by Garda later that same day with all property still in boot of car, however cash which had also been taken was already gone!

You will be required to give evidence to support the statement you made to Garda, unless accused pleads guilty.

Your stuff will not be returned (if it has been recovered) until after the hearing as it will be required for evidence.

I caught the prick with it,and basically locked him in the house till the gards came he caused lots of damage too.

The gards took the items, obviously for evidence or prints.

AFAIK he had a warrant out for him anyways, so they lifted him.

So do I just fill out this sheet with Everything that he damaged and send it into the gardai?

Would you have any idea of the typical amount of time until you get the goods back, so I can see if they are damaged?

( amenable to) (of a thing) capable of being acted upon
