I shall be bold and predict 4 from 4 for Leinster! Brive away will be the tough imo, we should have enough forward power for the scarlets and irish, especially at home.

Any info on where the Brive match will actually be played? there were rumours of moving the bigger matches to Bordeaux a while back.

    Munster Fixtures

    OCTOBER
    Round 1 Saturday 10 Northampton Saints v Munster 6pm
    Round 2 Saturday 17 Munster v Benetton Treviso 1.35pm

    DECEMBER
    Round 3 Friday 11 Munster v USA Perpignan 8.00pm
Round 4 Sunday 20 USA Perpignan v Munster

Tough for start for Munster at Franklin's Gardens against Saints and we get a very difficult back-to-back against Perpignan (just like Clermont last season). Their home record is brilliant, their away record is terrible.

    Can't wait!! :D

    Leinster Fixtures

    OCTOBER
    Round 1 Friday 09 Leinster v London Irish 8pm
Round 2 Saturday 17 CA Brive Correze v Leinster Rugby 4.45pm

    DECEMBER
Round 3 Saturday 12 Llanelli Scarlets v Leinster Rugby 6.00pm
Round 4 Saturday 19 Leinster Rugby v Llanelli Scarlets 3.35pm

Leinster should win all four games without much trouble, although anyway game in France (remember Castres away?) is a potential banana skin.

The Scarlets are beyond sh1te, even with Stephen Jones. They miss Dwayne Peel a lot imo.

Another interesting back-to-back is Leicester vs Clermont. That should be good. Clermont are probably the best team never to progress in recent times, they always get tough groups.

Hmmm true.. but after last years loss in the semi's they will come out charging out the blocks...Hopefully this year they will keep their heads down work hard and regain their rightfull place as champions of europe

On the down side with both SA and Aus in the autumn internationals we could end up woth injuries for both munster and leinster

Yeah, it's a nice chance for Leinster to progress... they'll need to get 5/5 and leave themselves going to London Irish hopefully in a position where they're home and hosed, or needing a losing bonus point to progress. That trip to Brive makes me nervous though, memories of Castres will haunt the team a little methinks. Any idea which of the multitude of Ryanair-approved bus-stops in the south of France is optimal for the trip??

All the away games for Leinster out of the way before xmas hopefully means we'll be in the driving seat for the last 2 games!

Leinster might have a tough match against England....sorry Brive away from home. Munster have two records to beat in their away fixtures, when is the last time Saints and Catalans have lost at home?

Northampton lost to Newcastle in the League a few short months ago. Sky have announced their live coverage see http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,12321_3829863,00.html
Disappointed Ulster vs Bath is not on the red button but just shows how far down the pecking order Ulster have fallen due to poor form in recent seasons.

Another Friday game for Munster, the last time was terrible cause there was still people coming through the Turnstiles 10 or 15 minutes into the game. Took us 3:30 hours from the time we left home outside Cork City to when we got into the stadium.

    Anyway.
I predict 5/6 for Munster but it's still far away yet.

Just booked flights, hotel and train for Brive !

This is a dream fixture for me as I used to live in Brive and watched Brive play every second week, also the wife is from there :D

I was actually there for Heineken Final. Watched it in a bar and had locals putting pints in front of me all through match and was nearly carried out at end. Nice people !

Stadium holds about 18,000 (town population is 50,000). 2 Stands either side and narrow terrace all around pitch (bit like Thomond layout)

    1193062872.jpgBrive_Rocamadour.jpg

There are 2 Irish bars in town, The Shamrock  and Le Castle, about 2 doors down from each other. There is an English Pub (Le Watson) that sometime pretends to be an Irish bar !

Central hotels are "Le France", "Le Collonge", "Le Quercy(Bit of a kip) or "La Truffe Noire" (bit pricey). The town is compact, pleasant and very walkable. The food in the restaurants is amazing ! Le Correze is a great restaurant and quite cheap for the fare on offer.

Train from Paris takes 4 hours and leaves from Gare Austerlitz.

Brive are far far from the team they used to be They had a good mid season and slipped up towards the end dropping a few places. It will be tough game but Leinster should be too strong.

Any questions, feel free to PM me.

That was Northampton's only loss at Franklin Gdns all season though, and they were awful that day. Will be tough but very beatable.

Apols achtungbarry but i don't know how to PM. Which airport are you flying into. Toulouse? All help appreciated. Have been targeting an Autumn/Winter away trip with Leinster for some time now and this looks like it is THE one to do.

Merci beaucoup pour votre assistance !

    Hi guys,

I see that Munster are playing Perpignan away on Sunday 20th December.
Basically, a relation of mine has a holiday pad out there and I've been waiting years for an excuse to visit!

According to this: http://www.ercrugby.com/eng/31_58.php?includeref=345&season=2009-2010&round=4 the game is scheduled to be played in Perpignans ground, but apparently there has been talk of a move to a bigger stadium.

Does anyone here know if theres a possibility of a change of venue/date, even though it appears to have been confirmed by ERC already?

Apparently there are cheap Ryanair flights from Stanstead to Carcassone for any of you that are interested

    Thanks!

Hi, the quickest to fly into would be Toulouse (2 hours from Brive by train) but Air Lingus' prices can be a bit high on this route. I'm doing the whole Ryanair thing flying to Beauvais. Beauvais to Paris is about 1hr 15 mins by bus and then Paris to Brive is 4 hours by train. Bit of a trek but worth it.

Limoges is probably the nearest airport (I'd say 60-90 mins) and as far as I recall Limoges and Brive are connected by train, Ryanair fly there from a few UK destinations, so a change at stanstead or whatever

Bordeaux would also be close (Aer lingus fly there)

other options would be la rochelle, toulouse, rodez

Really insightful comment there dan, shur most teams go into a game thinking the other team is unbeatable.

Amn´t I right in thinking Muster are playing Leinster in the RDS a few days before the first round of HEC cup - us at home to Irish and Munster away to Saints?

    Nice...
