i really need help with my situation.My fiance is courently in prison and has just been sentenced. how ever a week before this is did something wrong in there and was told he would be sent to soliatry confinement for 8 weeks. during this time he may not make calls or visits or even receive letters or post them. they told him now after he was sentenced that they were to have a displinery hearing and argeed on his punishment which again 8 weeks with no visits calls or letters..this punishment was not dated back since over week ago so he will be in there for 9 and half weeks in total with no contact with the outside workld,,

is this allowed to be done for so long . would this not be stopping his human rights or something like that..im not his next of kin and they not tell me much over phone but his parents dont really want to know.
i am left very confused over this as i have 2 young children askin when they can see him or get a call from him....

please can someone help me,was told about a prison rule book but that is inside prisons.. tried checking on net but no luck

please if any one could help me. i tried to ring soliator that was dealing with him is off for 3 weeks. i not have money to go to another solicator. aint slept since this happened. my kids are so upset over the whole sitation too

cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment." That is regarding a woman who was held in solitary confinement for 2 and a half months and 9 weeks is close enough!! You should contact you local citizens infomation office they would no better than me!!

Citizensinformation will be of no use in this case. This is a matter for a proper legal professional.

He should have standing to take the governor of the prison to court. Now how he would do that is another matter as he is in solitary.

S.I. No. 252/2007 covers this.

Again I wasnt trying to be funny......maybe he didnt want to see her??

I have never heard of anyone being put in confinement without contacting his/her solicitor or another reasonably named person.

i know i wasnt trying to be either but i guess it kinda sounded like that, she said aswel that the solicitor that is dealing with it for them is gone on holidays for 3 weeks and she cant afford to go paying out to another solicitor when he is the one dealing with it.

as m not his next of kin i have phoned the prison to see why he has not called and was told he wont for 56 days. They also said they sent letter to his parents (who are his next of kin) but nothing has been received and its been over week now.

The assiant of solicator has told me she will look into it that she not know were he stands on this.. thank you for the advice
