Today I got a chance to try out the iPhone,

I liked the device and the operating system is nice, although coming from Nokia it was a bit too simple and lacking in deeper configurations and default applications.

What absolutely blew me away though was typing, wow! typing on that thing is actually fun! I could not help but type away. It's so effortless and fast, on my Nokia I have to type on a small keypad and if I miss a letter I have to keep clicking and cycle to that letter all over again, I HATE texting on my phone, yet I had to make up excuses to use iPhone a bit more and type type type.

Capacitive screen is definitely the future and so is the onscreen keyboard, I felt absolutely no need for a physical qwerty keyboard.

I hope Nokia tries to catch up to iPhone with the future N98, or else, they are DEAD!

It is nice alright but I find the dictionary in the iPhone annoying at times. Also, it is slightly harder to type with one hand on an iPhone compared to physical buttons. But the landscape keyboard rocks!!

Try typing z after a word it dosent recognise and then delete the z. saves having to press the x button below the word.

Am I the only one who hates the landscape keyboard but loves texting one handed normally on the iPhone? :D Find it so much easier than real buttons...

Hahaha...no, I'm actually with you on that! I find the landscape keyboard, eh, wrong...maybe just my hands? Didn't like the tytn's/f7000's etc...
I got quite used to one-handed typing in portrait mode and have actually disabled 'auto-rotation'!

The guy who invented T9 has come up with a new system for typing on touchscreens called Swype, it looks pretty cool to me.

I'd say we will see this on the iphone soon.
