In Adam and Eve and all that stuff.

Look at it this way, scientists estimate that Man has been on this earth from between 350,000 and 100,000 years.

even if I take the low ball offer of 100,000 years, that means that for 94,000 years oral tradition is supposed to have carried on until moses decided to write Genesis.

YOu think he would have thought to himself that well, its been 94,000 years why should I go witht he whole talking snake thing.


And even taking that time, at the begining life expectancy would have been very low, food scare, natural disastors that we now understand would have been terrifying and signs of supernatural wrath.

Then all through the old testement there is genocide, there is infantcide, there are constant wars etc etc .

And its only 2000 years ago that heaven decides to intervene, in an obscure part of palestine.
