    Hi,

I'm looking for a bit of advice, I'm looking to buy a micro hifi system and was originally thinking about the Denon DM-37 DAB system.

However when I was looking around on the web I saw the aram solo mini and it looks a seriously great system, but I'm not sure if it is really worth the extra money.

What do people think here, anyone with the arcam solo mini can give me some feedback on what they think of it?

Given the choice, and assuming there was budget to cover both, I'd go for the arcam.

I have heard it (in cloney's) and liked the sound. I have previously heard denon's and wasn't as impressed with the amplification.

This is a very personal opinion, because obviously your ears are different to mine. I think Sevenoaks here have some denon stuff so you might be able to have a listen to both systems?

yes I´m swaying towards the Arcam alright, however I´m not living in Ireland and am trying to find a shop that will demo the arcam for me before buying it. I´ve also found one in a department store but they seem to be selling it only with the muso speakers whereas I would like to buy different speakers for it

Cloney Audio in Blackrock have (had) the arcam - with muso's but they probably have other speakers too to demo or take your own. I'd say they'd oblige.

This is from their news section so I don't know if the offer is still valid, but they are competitive.

I´ve managed to track down some decent hifi shops here in Madrid, and they´ve quoted me a price for the arcam solo mini of 1000 euros without speakers does sound a bit excessive?

Oops, only noticed your location now :o

Price seems okay € wise. Here is a uk retail offer with speakers for £1150 and the speakers are quoted £174 singly.

That offer you quoted is also with the ipod rdock, the arcam solo is coming in around 850 euros more or less on its own. So 1000 euros seems to be a bit expensive.
