    Hi,
    I want to do a pre university engineering course in september in a cdvec for 1 year,i am a qualified electrician with fetac level 6 electrical certificate.so even though I am out of work 1 year i cannot get BTEA because of the stupid fetac electrical cert.can someone please tell me If I could get VTOS despite the electrical fetac cert???
    I cannot get a answer anywhere I emailed the cdvec but n answer.

    Can you just not get the BTEA because of the FETAC cert ??? That seems very harsh.......any idea if it's the same with all FETAC certs ??? I have one from a PLC course i did a few years back but was planning on getting the BTEA.

    My only advise with will i/wont i get any type of grant is just to fill in the forms and send them in, the worst that can happen is you get nothing, ya never know, even if you're not entitled to something you could slip through the net.

    everyone says I cant because its a plc college,but if you are applying to a university you can get it,but if you are applying to a cdvec you wont get it too
    its a load of b****x they would rather people waste away on the dole
