Mobile Welder needed stillorgan area. 4 my 4x4 chassis and bulkhead

    I have reached the stage in my landrover restoration where I need to get some welding done.
    This is not your typical rust-eaten mess. It is a well cared for Ex-Military vehicle that has a few small rust holes in the chassis that needs a neat patching up and some major rust on the bulkhead ( I have bought the necessary repair sections and need to get them welded in). I have posted pictures of the major bits that need doing on the following link;
    http://www.flickr.com/photos/32446140@N05/

    The Landrover itself is heavily stripped down (as you can see from the photos) and could be stipped down further by me if required.
    If anyone is interested in the work - PM me with a rough estimate and we can discuss things further.

    Quote me happy and the work is yours. If the price is right there may also be some other welding/fabrication work that needs doing at the same site at the same time.
    Landrover is located in Stillorgan, Dublin.
    The list of what needs doing;
    left front outrigger needs small patch.(see pictures)
    rear right outrigger needs major patch/repair plate fabbed?(see pictures)
    bulkhead needs new eyebrows welded in on both sides (see pictures).
    bulkhead needs new door pillar welded in.(see pictures)
    footwells need patching/replacement.
    body mount rear right needs small patch(see pictures)

    Good luck with the project! Dig the old military wagons but how 'bout throwing up a few pics of the actual motor for us to enjoy??;)

    You might consider just doing the rear crossmember in its entirety if you've to get someone to call anyway.

    it's nearly as easy as patching that properly, and you'll only end up having to do it eventually anyway

    I wasn't going to replace the whole thing because it didn't seem that bad (the only really bad piece seems to be some sort of welded in insert piece inside the right crossmember rather than a part of the whole thing.

    And I was under the impression that the military rear crossmember is different to the civilian one. I felt that keeping it original would be nice and I was terrified of spending lots of money on buying and shipping one over from the UK , paying to get it welded - then finding that something else won't fit back onto it - because some bit of its a different shape.
    Its a 110.
    I'll try and dig up some pictures of it before I started work - the only one I think I have are from when I bought it 5 years ago (its been my runabout and traveling companion ever since - crossed europe a few times - with zero trouble). When I bought it - it was in a heavy nasty coat of camoflage , with a hard top - I stuck some black paint on it and registered it - thats really all I did until I started the job this year. Since then It has been converted to soft-top , had all the layers of paint stripped off (a job that would break your heart - I'd never have done it if I knew how long it would take) down to the bare aluminium - which I have then started to polish. I have added bullbars , snorkel and diff guards + breathers. The chassis has been cleaned, degreased and then rustreated (just waiting to get it welded - so I can paint the chassis.) going to paint all the ferrous parts (bulkhead, bumbers , rear bumperettes etc)- a bright candy orange color.

    Hi,Welcome.
    As far as i know the milatery crossmember has a hole in it to facilitate a P.T.O. I think this may be the only difference.. Any thoughts Landyman??
