Which should I get? Mainly for premiership and rugby, will be getting multiroom as well.

Variety pack and Sky Sports 1,2,3 and xtra with multiroom working out at 60euros a month with Sky

Sports pack with UPC is 50euro and has Setanta as well, multirooom is 8.50 a month

    Advantages/disadvantages? Advice

    Thanks

I am now with SKY, ex with UPC.

Much prefer the sky EPG and that to me was the most significant, daily difference - UPC was slower to access and not as user friendly.

If you only want Sports 1,2,3 then it is simply down to the overall cost - i.e. costs of equipment and installation. Be sure to compare SKY+ with UPC's DVR offering etc to ensure like for like.

Should the bundle package of telephone and broadband be available in your area (not available in mine) then you can make a great overall saving on monthly bills which could be an attraction to UPC.

Of course getting Setanta Ireland for Saturday afternoon games is a great bonus for UPC - provided it stays free!

In my experience the customer service of UPC was brutal and their keeping up to date with new channels always lagged way behind SKY.

    Thanks thebiglad,

Everyone seems to be saying Sky even though it is working out at 85euro including Espn and Setanta, same with UPC is around 75euro a month

think I will go with Sky as that seems to be most peoples opinion

Sky is brilliant,It's very quick to load the EPG etc,If chorus in the cities(assume you live in one) is anything like chorus digital down here in Kerry,It's hideous,Feels really cheap and nasty,I prefer the lidl satalite system epg to it!

+1 for Sky, used to have Chorus. Sky picture quality is a bit better & in the country you can't get the chorus Digibox. I think multi-room with Sky is more expensive but the box is yours so after one year you can cancel it & still get the free to air channels!

Skys product and customer service* is second to none.

*Customer Service: the girl on the other end of the phone will help you no end, but Sky dont care a whit about Irish customers when it comes to the more fickle aspects of the deals, eg the upcoming thing with ESPN etc.
