I've referred elsewhere on Boards.ie to a marvellous book called Bad Hare Days, the story of John Fitzgerald's lifelong battle with bloodsports in Ireland, especially hare coursing. It's a great read...nicely written, very compelling stuff. Essential reading I think for anyone taking up the daunting challenge of any tough animal-welfare related cause.

I notice that the author now has a webpage with all sorts of intriguing info about the campaign against hare coursing and his own struggle against what he sees as "recreational animal cruelty". It's at www.myspace.com/banharecoursingireland
