This is probably in the complete wrong place and if it is I apologise.

Can anyone tell me please if I would be better to go with Vodafone
or 3g for internet when I am out and about.

They are both €20 a month but the difference between them I have no idea

    Thanks as always.

    You mean 3
    3, Meteor, O2 or vodafone 3G-Mobile.

Depends where you will use it. Vodafone and O2 have the best coverage. Someplaces O2 is better. Vodafone has no EDGE only 50kbps to 70kbps GPRS on GSM if 3G is full or out of range. O2 does have EDGE on GSM (upto 245kbps).

3 only has a 3G network. No fall back GSM like Vodafone and O2. Read the Megathread. Generally 3 is much poorer coverage, though their maps are more optimistic than Vodafone's
