I'm going on hols to Lanzarote in a few weeks and would like to squeeze in a couple of rounds while I'm there. I'm staying in Puerto del Carmen and understand that a golf course called Lanzarote Golf (http://www.lanzarote.com/lanzarote-golf/index-en.html) is located about 5 mins away.

    Has anyone played this course?

    Is it any good?

    Is there a better alternative?

    cheers

I was in Lanzarote just over a year ago and at that time there was only one golf course on Lanzarote and its called Costa Tiguese. I stayed in Puerto Del Carmen aswell and its roughly a 20/25 min taxi ride away. Taxis are cheap over there so it didnt work out too bad. The course itself was in fab condition and has bermuda grass which id never played on before which was a joy. Its a lovely course too. I rented clubs off them which were utter shyte but i know for a fact they have loads of sets there so if you rent off them make sure you get a half decent set. Green Fee was around the 65 mark as far as I remember. The only downside the day i played was that it was extremely windy as the course is on the side of a mountain and exposed to the wind. That said it wasnt a hilly course.
Funny enough on my way there in the taxi I saw a new course being built just outside Puerto Del Carmen which is no doubt the one you are talking about. For what its worth, it looked decent from the road but unfortunatly I know nothing else about it.

If any of you budding golfers happen to be over in Lanzarote in a couple of weeks time, and would like a game then drop me a PM.

    cheers

it seems good value 58 euro green fees 22 euro club rental golf buggy 25 euros. It is a golf course 18 holes, par 72 and 6133 m longitud.Consisting of four par 3 holes, four par 5 and ten par 4, not bad by the looks of it

Has anyone golfed here lately? Looking to play there this weekend and wondering is it worth it?

I was there this time last year and played both courses. I preferred teguise as it was maturer with large palm trees lining the fairways and the greens were better than the newer course. Either way its a great way to spend the day. I would suggest renting clubs as the volcanic rock will damage the clubs.
