    Hi all

As my boards name implies I like fixies.

I read this website first thing every morning and today it listed the results of a cool competition to build a fixed wheel grocery-getter.

So if you like utility bikes, this is definitely worth a look.

It also shows how fixed gear bikes don't have to resemble the ones that couriers ride.

Excellent bikes in there. This is my favourite one, the pro version :)

My winner is the one that is used for carrying Goose Island Summertime.
Although the folder is pretty damn cool too.

Yeah but i could imagine that steering shaft jamming and causing some tears to be shed over spilt milk

Well just as long as you're not descending the Col Du Petit Saint-Bernard at the time, I reckon you'll likely come off (badum tsch!) ok.

I love the shopping trolley conversion on that one.

This one is less brilliant, for obvious reasons:

heh yeah that's held to the handlebars with velcro straps.Wouldn't fancy them breaking with a case of beer on the platform!

Having 20+kg forward of the front axle would make handling a bit interesting too. And no brakes.

I see a missed opportunity for running-boards here. And huskies. Needs huskies.

But the real issue is does it qualify for the "Express checkout, baskets only" lane?
