    and a member on detailingworld.com.

currently trying to set up a business in detailing ,
after working for aerlingus for 10 years i decided to quit and start a business

this is work carried out not by me but by another detailer in the uk ,
i havent done a classic car yet but its on the list of things to do ,
as i know alot of classic car owners look after there car and its a hard nut to crack .

That's some job on the SL!
If you need a classic to 'practice' on, my 350SL could use a scrub. ;)

Might be an idea to post some rates for that type of work.

    Best of luck, though!

Can you suggest anything for re-colouring beige vinyl seating to brown?
Either something available in Ireland or not in an aerosol as shipping on them is silly money.

Fantastic work done on that SL it looked like new. I reckon though that there are plenty of "valeters" around nowdays who could do 10% of what that guy did.

Also he says it took 50 hours !

    So you'd need to charge €2000 !!!

Not wishing to p**s on you parade so to speak, but I think in these recessionary times you'll find it quite difficult to make money in this line of business. Most car enthusiasts I know like nothing better than to play around with their cars at weekends or days off and the idea of paying someone to do it doesn't make sense, to me anyway.

totally forgot about this thread
actually been real busy thank god
as i said above people that are enthusiastic about there cars hardly ever get them valeted or detailed.
valeting can take maybe 2 hours
detailing can take a day some times 2 depending on the customers needs

alot of people that really love there car put them in the hands of the attended car wash man with a duty free smoke hangin out of his lip or else a quick drive throu thats had maybe 40 cars in it since last week end ,
then you have your average petrol head that just swears by T-CUT and WD40.

anyway hard times or not i have a passion for this i'm a perfectionist i let my work do the talking and touch wood i keep as busy as i am .

hopefully i havent offended anyone as i know classic car owners do actually take pride in there cars and would never put them through a car wash.
