I know most of you will wear red coloured specs but I think there is value in City this year. Betfair prices used.

FA Cup 9/1 - Almost always won by one of the big clubs. City are one now. 9/1 seems great value. They will be out to win any trophy.

Priem 13.5/1 - Seems a very big step to catch 40 points, But if they capture Lescott or Terry or Toure they will be very close.

Goals 35/1 - Tevez - Remember his goals in his West Ham days. Also South Americam player of the year three years in a row. Forget last season, he will play every game and get goals.

    W/O big 4 1.16/1 - I think you are buying money.

I think Tevez is a standout bet at current prices.

are you being serious, Tevez starting every game. There's not a hope in hell of this happening with the likes of Adebayor, Cruz, Benjani Robinho etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc. Odds of 35/1 top scorer is ridiculous imo and I wouldn't touch it even if it was 60's.

Disagree with virtually all of that.

City's problem last year was not scoring goals. It was the amount they shipped at the back. Until they sort out their defence that will still be a huge problem for them.

W/O big four at 1.16 is a poor price. Ever hear of Everton, the team who have consistently done well in this league for the last five years.
Losing Barry is a loss for Villa but O'Neill has a better pedigree than Hughes. Also think that Spurs will be much better this year.

Tevez is an excellent player but with the likes of Robinho, Adebayor, Santa Cruz and Bellamy (who made a great start for them) on board, nobody is guaranteed a place up front. He's also only scored 26 league goals in 89 English league appearances. Nothing to write home about.

Could be a decent shout for the league cup as the big boys are not bothered and City will go for it.

Edit: Think you mean 2.16 for without the top four.

FA Cup bet is the only half decent chance!

Dont think City will win anything else so they could all out for this so they have some silverware at the end of the season

I would agree with you on the FA cup as city have got amazing attacking options and are now well capable of winning this and odds of 9-1 repersents great value.
Bu i think Emmanuel Adebayor to be top goalscorer at 18-1 is the stand out bet to me as we all know city were well capable of scoring lots of goals in the premiership even before the arrival of Adebayor, Tevez and Santa Cruz!
So as long as Adebayor stays fit he will bang the goals in as the assists will come from all over the field for him.

cup only hope. Everton will finish above them anyway.

City are not a big club. They have money. So do a lot of clubs. QPR for instance and city won't have a chance in a cup if they can't win away and at home.

Mark Hughes is not Brylcream. The team is not going to gel quick enough to catch one of the big 4

Would that be the season where he didn't score in 5 months at the beginning? As for South American player of the year, he's not the best South American in the team

People said the same last year

Bubs, if people backed Man City last year to break the top 4 they were burning money. Their line-up on the opening day last year was -

Hart, Corluka, Ben Haim, Richards, Garrido, Johnson, Fernandes, Elano, Etuhu, Petrov, Evans.

They were fighting relegation in January but finished top half (barely), 22 points behind Arsenal. Given how much stronger they should be from the offset this year, I think they will be challenging for top four. I have been wrong before. :D

They aren't going to be that much stronger. On paper last year they still had a great team, better than Villa and Everton but nobody gelled. Robinho was one of the best players in the world at the beginning of last season and him and Casillas won Real the league single handedly that year. They haven't signed anybody of his quality this year.

Also, in case you forgot, City's spending spree came after their first match. There's no Kompany, Robinho,Jo ,Zabaleta, SWP or De Jong in that team not to mention Ireland Bridge and Given. They signed quality last year all over the pitch. This year they signed quality up front in bunches which can only improve two positions

If they get Terry i think its nailed on at even money to win the league without the Big 4...

Heard they have made a bid of £50m for him....not even Chelski can turn this down!

As a Chelsea fan let me tell you, Terry probably won't go and secondly is nowhere near as good as he used to be
