Drive recovery truck on car licence?

    Howdy all,was just looking at buying a small recovery truck,and some of the irish ads i was looking at say 'can be driven on car licence'? I find this hard to believe, because if the gross vehicle weight is over 3500kg (say 2500 for the truck and 1300 for a car on the back = 3800kg), then a B licence won't cover you to drive it and surely you need a C class licence? Some of the ads are trucks weighing 7500kgs! Just wondering if someone in the know could shed some light on this.Cheers!:)

    Beaver tail transporters <3500 kg d.g.v.w are available but obviously with the weight restriction some/many cars are going to be too heavy to transport.

    If you're looking at a vehicle the d.g.v.w will be stated on the VIN plate so it's important to check that rather than relying on the seller telling you that it can be driven with B licence.
