hi, new poster here. just want yo know has any boardies encountered problems with sram cassettes? i have an 11-28 on my spesh roubaix comp replacing 12-27. it worked okay for 1000 k but now is clunking- grinding in middle gears. would be grateful for any advise.

is the new 12 -27 or was it just the old 11-28? i put an sram 11-28 on a shimano free hub a few weeks ago and have a few hundred ks on it with no issues.

Could it be the installation or the free hub?

You need a service IMO, Could be anything from a simple adjust to a new chain.

I use Sram chains and cassettes, they have always gived a solid clunk when changing, no skipping or anything.

thanks guys for your prompt replies re sram cassette. turns out the noise may have being coming from a loose headset,only happened when i put the hammer down in big gears. will have to wait until tomorrow for a test run.
