Can anyone reccomend a good mechanic in Dublin?

I have a car that needs to be nct'd on Monday and was looking for a reasonable mechanic to give my car a service, prob need new brakes and tyres.

Dont want to be spending a fortune and have had bad experiences with mechanics in the past.

I live in Dublin 8 but can drive anywhere.

    Any help appreciated.

Why don't you just submit the car for its NCT and if it fails, then bring it to a garage and get a mechanic to fix the items it fails the NCT for?

I really can't see the point in getting a "pre-NCT". The NCT is there to tell you what's wrong with the car.

    +1

No point in getting a garage/mechanic to evaluate potential failures. Get the NCT to give you the fault list.

The car may even pass the NCT first time..........
