I was doing fine until you came along
You intrigued me with your organised manner
    Your cool sophistication
    Your style, your popularity.
What you offered me I could not resist.

You sucked me in when you came along
You pulled down the fences so carefully constructed
So tall and wide and impenetrable
    So long-lasting, so prized.
What could I do against such power.

I laid myself bare when you came along
You resurrected the past, the demons came dancing
So many, so often, so carefully forgotten,
So many old names, old faces
What could I do against the might of the flow.

I live with my history since you came along
You opened the door, you invited them in
What I can do, I yield to your temptation
I yield to it daily, hourly…
    Damn you Facebook.

    :D

But seriously...I love words, I love the way they sound and look and I love putting them together, but I have zero confidence in myself and what I do. :( I feel like I have an untapped well of creative energy in me but I can't let it out. I'd love to hear your tips and ideas on how you work and how to have some confidence in it!!

    Thanks,
    H.

That's pretty good, but I think you'd do better by removing the last line from the poem and using it instead as the title. I do like the poem, but I feel somehow underwhelmed by that last line.
