"Every rank-and-file garda gets an untaxed rent allowance payment of €4,162 per year, even if they are living in their own house."

Seems like a sweet deal plus you get to live in your little Garda station after you retire rent free and bills free.

Whats the starting pay for Garda read somewhere after 2-3years with all the cushty allowances you can be on 50K a year.

Sounds alright for job that requires a mickey mouse leaving cert.

Anyone care to shed light on the pay and this amazing rent allowance
