A little help and advice folks, I've looked on the citizensinformation.ie site but cant' quite find the answers I'm looking for...

I have a 1954 Ford Popular (slightly modified) which I'm thinking of selling. It's in Northern Ireland, on original UK plates, registered but on SORN (declared off road) and no current MOT.

I had a vague inkling someone once told me there was no VRT, NCT and cheap tax on cars over 30 years old in Ireland. Is this the case ? If so, I'll stick it up on a few Irish sites as there would be little hassle for anyone interesting in importing it. And if it's more compliciated than my 'man in the pub' quality advice, I'll leave it!

    Thanks in advance :)
