COD4 Diehards

I've been playin COD WAW for a good 6 months now, I didn't like it at first as it was WW2 etc, much preferred "Modern Warfare". I went through Prestige a couple of times on COD4 so I was say my ability was average.

Anyway flicked on COD4 again last night for the blast... I was getting my ass kicked pretty much every match. I'm thinking part of the reason is that many people (diehards) stayed with COD4 and for that reason, are now absolutely LETHAL!

    Anyone else experienced this?

There is a difference between the both of them

cod4 is alot more fast paced the WAW

Or maybe you need to play more to get back with the hang of things

@ Enigma IE: PC or console?

I've started playing CoD2 again lately (yes, CoD2!) and I absolutely love it! I'm still good but nowhere near as good as I was before CoD4 came out... But boy, rifles are awesome!!! :D

I've played far more CoD2 than CoD4 in the last 2 weeks!

Oh and WaW is poo so never bothered with it...

Good point. I'm a little rusty when it comes to COD4 gameplay. By that rational, the diehards are seriously sharp, hence the gap since I last played COD4 regularly.

    Edit: Steffano, I'm using Xbox.

Well then time to close that gap start playing search nd destroy and domination till your back where you first left off

i play it the odd time here and there but always come out positive by at least 15 more kills then deaths

Don't care for any COD single player myself, but WaW's multiplayer is decent. I'm curious as to what you find wrong with it.

We've had this argument before (too many times!).

WaW on Console = good game
    WaW on PC = useless

I thought you got it but had connection problems ??

Never played WaW but have followed and played and the series since big red one on the xbox, i've probably had my fill of WW2 in cod but still like the older historic settings when you're a single soldier as part of huge battle eg. storming of the beaches and trenches like saving private ryan in cod3 and defence of stalingrad in cod2 where you're given a wooden gun because they ran out of real ones!

I think there is some seriously good players in cod4 still who probably never left; (same as in halo 3) was playing Crash recently on the 360 and was wondering why we were losing so badly until I checked the final scores one guy had 49 kills, 19 deaths in a first to 750 points team deathmatch game!

Plus just cos you've "prestiged" doesn't automatically make you / me / anyone more skillful because you get experience even if you do badly or lose. Though the guy who got 49/19 was maxed out prestige wise so maybe i'm talking out of my @ss!

I personally think there is a big big change over in going from cod 4 to halo 3 or vice versa as the controls aren't similar if you've not dipped your toe back in regularly ( I once forgot how to reload in halo! :o), and all to often i've tried reloading and chucked a grenade at my unfortunate team mates in halo.

I doubt very few players could re-habituate to a game they've played to a high level after abstaining for 6 months and not show any signs of rust. Just gives you an excuse to get good at it again!

I haven't stopped playing COD4 at all but I have noticed that there are still loads of players out there who play it a lot more than me. These days you have guys walking around even the smallest maps with sniper rifles as main weapon and killing everyone with head shots :D

have to agree with you ScribesQuill, iv seen alot of sniper headshots on maps that they should really not be getting them.

had wow but played it a couple of times with my bro and then ended up playing cod4 again, and again and again. awesome game

cant wait for cod4-2 its gonna be brill with the old crowd making it

have to say im a sucker for playing old games. i played Close Combat on the laptop 15 yrs ago and since then have bought every title available even the remakes- must be 12 games!. BUT still thiink number 3 the russian front is the best. A bit off topic sorry guys,

Btw is 24000 kills alot? how many is not a gross indication of late nights staring at the tele...!

I disagree. WaW crap on all platforms. Poor gun handling and balance, even worse map design and bad collision and hit detection make a bad multiplayer game.

Have to say i disagree, WaW is not that bad. Lots of diversity in the maps, and the maps are huge, very technical. I'll always be a COD4 diehard, and have tweaked the crap out of the config, games plays so damn fast now. Going to WaW after a stint of COD4 is childsplay, was dominating from the very beginning, Waw being so much slower.

Curious to see how COD4 2 plays out.
