IB Ripwave problem

    Hi

A friend asked me to help him out with a problem he has been having with his Ripwave connection. Basically he has the ripwave box connected directly to his iMac with an ordinary ethernet cable. Generally the signal and quality bars on the front range from 70% to 100% with the signal generally not changing from 100% and the quality moving every couple of minutes. About every 5 - 10 minutes his connection is dropped but the signal is still exactly the same on the front of the box...? He has spoken to IB and they sent him a new box but the problem persists. I tested it on my Powerbook laptop and it suffers the same problem. Generally everything will go back to normal after maybe 30 seconds but for a technophobe (like he is) its annoying that he keeps dropping connection. Have any of yee experienced problems with the Ripwave system or are they generally fine...? The speed also seems very slow only getting .9mb down and .1mb up...! IB have suggested that if he cant get it working to upgrade to a breeze connection. He isn't a heavy net user and the Ripwave is fine for most of what he does so the Breeze product would be a bit overkill...!

    Any ideas / thoughts...?

    Rats
