Little or no K1 discussion on here at all :(

Guess because its not shown here ? , which is a real shame as they are absolutely cracking events, as usually they deliver in a BIG way.

Did anyone catch the K1 max gp last 8 last week?

Kid Yamamoto and tatsuya kawajiri where on the card, what a card it was!!!!

Edit: Looks like i got moved here and my K1 shenanigans aint as MMA as i would have thought they were :D
K-1 is a combat sport that combines stand up techniques from Muay Thai, karate, taekwondo, savate, San shou, kickboxing, traditional boxing, and other martial arts to determine the single best stand-up fighter in the world

    Am i missing something

    Back on topic calex :pac:

Any way one thing i thought very bad about the event / one of the fights anyway
was kiko lopez taking out the mouth piece and dropping it after he got knocked down in the 2nd round, and maybe Hiroyia not getting counted in the 1st

don't wanna be picky, but it was K-1 World Max last week, not GP (that's the 'big K-1'):D:D
yamamoto is not a k-1 fighter, which was quite obvious in the fight (he said it himself that he was surprised to get a k-1 fight)
this year's final 8 was in my opinion one of the most boring ones
all 4 main fights went the whole distance, no ko, even few extra rounds
kyshenko clearly won his fight, but somebody doesn't like him in japan
buakaw lowely front kicks but boring fight (just outscored holtzken)
petrosyan no problems with kraus - kraus was jumping around the ring like jojo
drago vs yamamoto was really the only fight which was exciting, the amount of punches both guys threw was amazing
other than that - i don't really know - Masato had a really easy one, just a bit more than sparing really
hopefully the final will be better, i'm hoping buakaw will come back and win the whole thing (apparently he has some financial problems so he will fight like lion for sure)
most people say Petrosyan will be the one this year - but i really don't like his style, just don't see him being that good... just my opinion ;)

No not picky just me being used to GP being thrown into most Japanese/Asian events [mma] these days lol :D

And i totally agree re: Petrosyan

I think the idea was for Kid to face Masato at Dynamite on NYE

masato vs kid??? k-1 or mma?? haven't heard about that yet
seems to me that masato is gettin quite a lot of fights after he said he's done last year :D:D

His final fight will be on NYE all these recent fights where chosen by fans on an online vote i think.
I dont think a fight with Kid will happen personally but anything can happen i guess its japan after all.

I wasnt suprised to see Mosato beat the crusher but the manner of the victory was something else, he tore him apart. Hopefully it will be Souwer vs Mosato in the final, with Souwer vs Bukaw in the semi.

Whens the GP? Can't wait to see "The Flying Gentleman" himself in action again.

Their plan was to match up Masato vs KID at the New Years Eve show in a K-1 fight for Masato's final fight. They put KID on this show rather than DREAM because this show was on primetime tv and DREAM was on late at night. KID is probably their biggest draw and they didn't want to waste him on a show that wouldn't maximise his drawing power

The layoff doesn't seem to have done him much good. Though they'll probably still match him up with Masato at New Years Eve anyway

Just watching some of the fights again here , durring the kyshenko / souwer fight Mike "the voice" commented that if kyshenko where to win the max tournament he would face Masaro on NYE @ Dynamite , so maybe the plan is for him to fight the Max winner

Edit after replaying it , it seem's that Fight is actually on , on replaying it again the HDnet commentary team seem to think it on , that fight would make sense to me , a fight with Kid would make more $$$$$ sense though

first of all, Masato is not fighting on the main card in the pyramid, he is fighting 'only' a superfights
last 4 guys remaining in the pyramid is: Buakaw vs Souver and Yamamoto vs Petrosyan (so hopefully it will be Buakaw vs Petrosyan in the final :D)

next K-1 World GP will be 11. august - it's the qualifying for final 16, so you'll have to wait for flying gentleman a bit longer:D

i actually do rate Petrosyan he is a very intelligent fighter,he may not be the most excitin but he def is a smart fighter and dosnt take much damage

Buakaw has a great record and ive seen some of his fights form years gone by (thats a whole other thread wow) but his fights in this tournament have been for want of a better word boring , maybe just me ? In a B vs P final Petrosyan to win much as i think he's over rated.

Ideally id love to see Yamamoto steel this form everyone.
